The two giants are in advanced talks to merge. A combination of the two siblings would create a $200 billion behemoth.
The Big Question:
1. What the merger means to Canada Cannabis Inc.?
2. and the E-Cig Empire dominated by JUUL?
A brief analysis of the potential impact on publicly traded cannabis companies:
ORCD, ORVRF, CGS, ACB, CRON, TLRY
Altria CEO, Howard Willard, has surprised the market before by making a huge $12.8 billion investment in his nemesis JUUL, and the Phillip Morris CEO has recently said that the future of tobacco is smokeless!
Both companies have made significant investments in smokeless tobacco products and cannabis and both companies have significant stakes in a number of companies in the burgeoning Pot industry, which is growing fast, while the cigarette consumption has been declining for decades.
We think the merger could provide a much needed boost to Cannabis Stocks, which are down significantly and smaller, under capitalized companies are struggling to survive. However, a few innovative companies with great products like Orchid Ventures* ORCD, ORVRF, are trying to increase their market share, expanding into new markets and acquiring, struggling, underfunded rivals.
