Dr. Anne Schuchat, principal deputy director reported that CDC is working 24/7 with states to try to find answers to this deadly and life threatening illness. CDC has received 530 confirmed reports of Vape Lung Injuries from 38 states, and 7 states (California, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri and Oregon) have reported 8 deaths.
16% of the Victims are younger than 18, and more than 50% are under 25 years of age!
CDC is still working to determine the cause, the number of products involved, hundreds of brands, vast number of devices, and great array of flavors, some containing nicotine, some THC only, and some containing both, the THC and nicotine, adding to the difficulties.
CDC recommends that you consider not using e-cigarette or vaping products.
CDC is working to understand more about the exposure and has not reached any conclusion yet, however, due to the serious harm these products may cause, the CDC is urging consumers to refrain from using any e-cigarette or vaping products.
